The Coventry Inspiration Book Awards 2011

Welcome to Myvotes Coventry! This site is where wehave been voting to find the winning authors in the  2010 Coventry Inspiration Book Awards. Anybody, wherever they live and whatever their age, could vote and  can still tell us their opinions on the short-listed books. In our fourth year we have seen another  huge increase in the numbers of visitors to our site and more votes than ever before!

This site really does have something for everyone in the family.  We have polls to find the favourite books for every age-group of children and young people and polls in different genres of books for adults. Just click the links on the left hand side of this screen to take you to the poll that you are interested in. The polls for children and young people are at the top of the list, beginning with Never Too Young, for babies from 0-4.

Above all this site is about enjoying books. We think the shortlisted books are all quite simply great reads, designed to "inspire" reading for life! Here you will also find the answers to all those " What shall I read next?" questions. Every book in the polls for young people has information about other books by that author and other similar books. The adult polls have lists of other recommended reads in that genre too. So please take a look!

Every week from January 11th, 2010, the two books with the least votes in each poll have been eliminated, until  now we have our winners. The winners announcement was made on February 17th 2010. Gemma Malley, winner of the Read It Or Else poll in 2009, came  to Central Library at 2.00 pm to talk about her books and announce the 2010 winners.  Winning authors and publishers will now be invited to an awards ceremony in Coventry's medieval Guildhall on June 16th, 2010. Tickets for this event can be obtained from sls@coventry.gov.uk.

NOW is the time to start nominating your favourite books for the 2011 polls!
